Member Relations

Each year, the Member Relations Committee solicits nominations to recognize outstanding volunteers in our congregation (replacing the former Unsung UU program). Read more about our 2012 Outstanding Volunteers: Tom Groves, Jean McCollum, Peter Shulman, and Allan Morgan. 2011 Outstanding Volunteers were: Karen Campbell and Kelley Trombly-Freytag.

We strive to make our members feel welcome and part of our community.

Member Relations responsibilities include:

  • welcoming new members
  • assisting all members in connecting with the church community
  • coordinating member recognition ceremonies and celebrations
  • interviewing new members and writing welcoming announcements about them for the newsletter
  • organizing potlucks for new members to meet longtime members
  • managing the church photo directory
  • an annual recognition of volunteers
  • collaborating with Adult R.E. and Visitor Relations on the Exploring UU series, aimed at introducing newcomers to Unitarian Universalism
